TikTok URL Resolver for Not Working Links
Use the resolver to separate private, removed, app-only, short-link, no-watermark, and temporary TikTok failures.
Supported services
How it works: paste the TikTok URL, run the resolver, then read the returned availability, URL pattern, format, and failure message.
The preview and format selector are rendered from the actual /api/resolve response for the pasted URL.
Supported URL patterns
- tiktok.com video URLs
- vm.tiktok.com short links
- vt.tiktok.com short links
Short links
- vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links are expanded and classified through the TikTok resolver.
Format availability
- The result panel shows whether MP4, HD, or no-watermark formats were actually returned.
- Failure copy is based on /api/resolve response codes.
- Temporary source limits can recover without page changes.
Common failure reasons
- Private, removed, restricted, or app-only post
- Short link cannot be expanded
- No video format returned
- Temporary source access limit
What this resolver actually returns
Formats returned by /api/resolve
| Format | Typical quality | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 (H.264), no watermark | 540p–1080p | Shown only when the source actually exposes a clean file — the page never fakes a no-watermark option |
| MP4 (H.264), watermarked | 540p–1080p | Fallback when no clean file is exposed for the post |
How the resolver handles this platform
- TikTok requests go to the cobalt engine first, with automatic yt-dlp fallback if cobalt fails or times out.
- Transient TikTok resolver errors are retried with extended limits before a failure is reported.
- vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links resolve the same as full URLs.
- App-only, private, and removed posts fail with the specific reason instead of a generic error.
Behavior verified against the production resolver: July 2026.
Supported formats and responsible use
Formats
- TikTok standard URLs
- vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links
- MP4, HD, and no-watermark checks when the source responds
Notes
- Private, deleted, app-only, login-gated, or region-limited posts may not resolve.
- Some failures are temporary source access limits.
- The page explains the returned failure but does not bypass platform restrictions.
